With the 'nad freezing' weather here it's time to head North - or not if you live anywhere except the Channel Islands!

As you dust of those axes and pitons. A really good thing to do is check the avalanche forecast for the area you are visiting.

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service, is the place to go for a pictoral image of the snow and avalanche activity in the area you're visitng.

Also on the web site is the view of the previous and future likely snow conditions.

A good thing to do is have a look at this web site a few days before you head up to Scotland.
